My Love Affair with Nature

Usually the August Long Weekend is synonymous with a camping trip. Unfortunately, my comrades and I didn’t get around to organizing one so my nights were left without the smell of campfire, and my mornings without the feeling of warm mildew - the kind that not only permeates the air but dampens your clothes.

On the day that I typically refer to as “BC Day”, I visited Webster's Falls and Tews Falls in Hamilton, Ontario. The falls are a bit of a hidden gem as most locals don’t seem to have a clue that it even exists. Beside Webster's Falls, there's a lovely field which acts as the perfect host to a grassy nap or a summertime picnic by the riverbeds. We daringly climbed past the slippery mud and rocks, and were prized with an amazing shower of Webster's Falls. This adventure was exactly what I needed to celebrate “BC day” in true outdoorsy spirits. Exactly one month until I will be leaving Waterloo….

Yours,

P. xo.
